Due to our continued growth, Magnetic Shields Limited are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our sales team. Magnetic Shields, based in Staplehurst, Kent are leading specialists in the design and manufacture of bespoke magnetic shielding and has an expanding customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Asia
The ideal candidate should have a background in engineering, with experience within a manufacturing environment. A good awareness of product manufacturing processes, preferably in the sheet metal fabrication/engineering industry would be a plus along with an understanding of customer relationship management and cost estimation processes
The role will require the Technical Sales Representative to work with existing customers, secure new business from incoming enquiries and seek out new customers across targeted sectors. They will need to be able to identify customer requirements, review manufacturing constraints together with our engineering and production teams when submitting official quotations and processing subsequent orders via an MRP system (Progress Plus)
The Role:
- To build relationships with existing and new customers
- Review manufacturing requirements together with engineering and production teams
- To use estimating processes in order to issue quotations in a timely manner
- To ensure new and repeat orders are entered, acknowledged correctly and concisely
- To generate BOM, Routing and Work Order information for manufacture
- To manage customer expectations
- To identify and log potential customers for future sales follow ups
- To visit customers and/or their projects when required
Essential Skills:
- Ability to interpret technical/engineering drawings
- A commercial and practical understanding of manufacture including quality systems
- Working knowledge on CAD software, such as Inventor or Autocad
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook
- Knowledge of machining processes
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional manner and appearance
Desirable Skills:
- Engineering Degree
- Experience in sheet metal design/manufacture
- Appropriate technical sales and estimating experience
- Metal Alloy Knowledge
- Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload well
- Clear communication skills at all levels, written and verbal
- Confidence, enthusiasm, self-motivation and determination
