MuRoom | Shielded Rooms

We design and build both modular and bespoke magnetically shielded rooms based upon application for each customer. This begins with a full categorisation of the field within the space of interest which allows us to recommend the required dimensions and shielding performance and recognise the main source/s of unwanted electromagnetic fields.

Rooms can be created for both magnetic and RF shielding by layering high permeability material with electrically conductive materials in order to meet such requirements. For optimum shielding performance, we may recommend using multiple wall layers and will discuss the need for electrical access ports within the room. We can also source field-free lighting for use within the room.
Using both active and passive shielding, we can provide unrivalled magnetic environments.

5 years ago, we started with a few equations on the back of an envelope, and a few lines of computer code to simulate a system. To have seen this mature into a commercialisable imaging system, which can outperform anything available currently, has been remarkable. There are many advantages to our system but for me the biggest is the ability to scan babies and children. Neurological disorders, like epilepsy, often strike in young children and this new system will provide new information to medical professionals which they can use in treatment planning.
