Description
This part time role requires assisting a close-knit logistics administration team with all aspects of shipping & dispatch functions plus general administration work. To be considered for this role you will need to have excellent organisational skills, plus be comfortable working within a small team, have a good level of IT literacy, strong attention to detail, and an adaptable approach, helping colleagues as and when needed. Part time 2 or more days per week, hours open to discussion.

About the Role
You will be carrying out all administration aspects of the shipping & dispatch functions, along with other administration duties. Tasks include processing the completed orders through the ERP system, raising delivery notes, shipping documentation and ensuring all freight & customs documentation is completed and stored for audit purposes. You should be highly organised, methodical and have excellent attention to detail as well as being pro-active in helping colleagues as and when needed. For the right candidate there is potential to progress within the department.
Roles & Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
- Supporting the Import/Export Manager in daily shipping activities
- Assist with checking, scanning, filing shipping documentation
- Assist in arranging carriers to ship goods & materials
- Assist with generating all necessary shipping paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists & labels
- Assist with ensuring on time delivery
- Liaising with sales team with shipping quotations
- Providing occasional cover for packing department when required
Essential Skills
- Educated to at least GCSE level, including English/Maths
- Ideally 12 months experience in transferable administrative role, full training will be given
- Highly organised in approach & able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail - accuracy in document preparation & compliance
- High level of IT proficency - experience of Word/Excel and ideally MRP systems or similar
- Good problem solving skills - able to use own initiative
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Team player
- Willingness to learn
- Good interpersonal skills, used to dealing with suppliers & customers
