About the Role

The Project Manager will be crucial in driving forward the Shielded Room production, analysising current processes, identifying areas for improvement, implementing continuous improvement and transforming this key area of the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

Includes (but not limited to):
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to drive the successful project planning process in all areas connected to Shielded Rooms; responsible for ensuring successful end-to-end Shielded Room delivery from requirements to shipment to customer site
    - Develop and own master plan for delivery of all Shielded Rooms
    - Monitoring progress and planning of project against key project deliveries and deadlines
    - Day-to-day troubleshooting as necessary to identify/resolve key issues
    - Identifying and reducing bottlenecks
    - Meeting key project delivery deadlines & budgets
  • Act as the MSL interface for Shielded Room delivery with overseas installation team and their Director, to ensure their installation requirements are met, resolving issues and proactively identifying longer term improvements to processes
  • Making a tangible difference to agreed targets through identifying and driving changes/ planned improvements; deliver significant and sustained impact to agreed growth and efficency targets in the Shielded Room part of MSL's operation
  • Standardise Shielded Room operational processes and procedures using LEAN principles; using activities such as data recovery, demand analysis, process mapping & improvement, root cause analysis, etc. to assist
  • Developing appropriate work instructions, documenting other relevant procedures and ensuring adherence by implementing agreed communications, training and audit procedures
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal & external stakeholders to champion continuous improvement within this area
  • Ensure all processes comply with ISO:9001 processes & standards

Essential Skills

  • Relevant engineering educational background, educated to degree standard or time served equivalent
  • Holder of relevant project management qualifications or time served equivalent
  • Able to project plan effectively & efficiently to a high standard, using this skill to best align projects with the Company's overall goals & mission
  • Acting as a strategic thinker, using critical thinking to make complex decisions about a project plan
  • Able to evaluate complex workflows to maximise efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with key stakeholders, customers & MSL senior leadership towards successful outcomes
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong decision maker, able to make choices between different alternatives, solution focused
  • High standard of IT literacy, advanced in all MS Office packages (especially Excel, Project)
  • Ability to operate MRP systems proficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional manner & appearance

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of leading projects in a matrix organisation
  • Continuous improvement experience (5years +) from within transferable background
