About the Role

Due to continued growth and expansion, MSL Heat Treatment are currently recruiting for a remotely based Technical Sales Manager to join their established team.

Generally speaking, any process that applies heat to material can be classed as heat treatment, whether that is part of the treatment of metals, wood, ceramics, composites, etc. MSL Heat Treatment specialise in the Vacuum Heat Treatment and Vacuum Brazing of metals including steels, copper alloys, nickel alloys, and many more materials that can benefit from vacuum furnace treatment.

Operating from our plant just outside Gatwick, we are ideally placed to serve local and national demand for vacuum heat treatment and brazing processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Improving profitable growth, achieving agreed sales targets.
  • Developing strong relationships with existing and prospective customer base to capitalise on current opportunities.
  • Driving sales strategy for managing customer accounts.
  • Acting as trusted customer advocate, using technical knowledge and experience to provide customers with solutions that meet and exceed their business requirements
  • Exploring the promotion of new business opportunities within existing product range.
  • Leading from the front in any product or range development, acting as the primary contact for our customers.
  • Enhancing our presence in the Heat Treatment industry.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to identify and arrange suitable industry marketing opportunities, acting quickly to pursue opportunities.
  • Planning targeted sales and marketing opportunities/approach, in consultation with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assisting team in overall customer relationships – acting as advisor for any queries if necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ambitious, dynamic and self-motivated individual with 5+ years relevant and transferable related key account management and new business development experience.
  • Strong technical expertise; understanding of heat treatment principles, basic metallurgy, vacuum brazing principles and techniques.
  • Able to navigate customer relationships, comfortable interacting with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills.
  • Comfortable working alone as well as working within teams.
  • Professional and well presented in approach.
  • Independent, can prioritise work effectively.
  • Enthusiasm to meet, network and attend relevant industry events, exhibitions, etc.
  • Full clean driving licence; role remotely based.

Preferred

  • Any past experience in heat treatment or engineering would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Manufacturing experience ideal but not essential
  • Vacuum Furnace experience ideal but not essential
